Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Daren's formative and early adult years were spent in Houston, Texas where he developed a love and appreciation for nature and architectural design. Daren graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Texas, Houston and an Associates AIA degree. 

Working with architectural firms in Houston, including an internship with Chelsea Architects and assisting partners with large scale projects, Daren also produced 3d contour maps-based field measurements and wrote architectural code summaries for legal cases.

In 2011, Daren moved to Nashville, Tennessee to develop a 3d printing business for architects. Daren’s architectural design talents, creative gifts and love of process translates into his recent expressions creating and producing abstract acrylic art.  

Algorithm Pareidolia is his premier collection of 36 works intended to tell a story in a series of two, three and six canvases. 

Paintings develop by layering random patterns, which evoke site planning and architectural form in plan and section. City planning and biology intersect.

‘layers’ as days go by is a process or algorithm that has been delightfully consistent."  

 'Pareidolia' is the tendency for perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous stimulus, usually visual, so that one detects an object, pattern, or meaning where there is none. 

Daren's expressive works of pareidolia are an interactive journey where artist and the art invite the viewer to enjoy a personal journey and meaningful-to-you interpretation. As the light changes on each piece, so to your journey. Every viewing is a new beginning! 

Select pieces from this Collection will be presented for viewing and sale at a special 2025 Noah Liff Opera Center Event. The open to nature Ragsdale Room creates the perfect natural light-filled architectural venue for this social gathering of art collectors and appreciative enthusiasts.
