Silver comes from a long line of cultural creatives, artists, writers and entrepreneurs.

In 1967,Silver founded a LIVE OUTDOOR Biology lab at her high school. In 1970, she founded one of the first Equine Assisted Therapy programs in the U.S. In the 80's, 90's and early 2000's, she established Community Associations, Responsible development associations, worked with multiple equine assisted therapy programs and other nonprofits, as well as Coached young equestrians.
In 2007, with the assistance of her long time supporter and advocate, Sen. Bob Dole, together they were successful in winning the approval of the President of the Department of Veterans Affairs to officially sanction Equine Assisted Activities as a beneficial therapeutic modality for Veterans.
Silver is a published author/columnist at Phelpssports.com, former photo-journalist for award winning newspapers, media projects other publications. Her innovative approach to writing M.A.P.S. MODEL Strategic Plans has been implemented by nonprofits as a streamlined guide to resiliency.
She continues to advocate on behalf of people with disabilities, Veterans and other nonprofit organizations.
Silver currently sits on the board of the Tennessee Alzheimer's Association Military Advisory Council, (TAAMAC)
